The sports programs at Springfield and Greenbrier high schools were given high honors recently when the referees of the North Middle Tennessee Football Officials Association (NMTFOA) held their annual referees/coaches banquet on Tuesday, November 1, in Clarksville.   At the banquet the two high schools were awarded the A.F. Bridges Sportsmanship Plaque for their respective divisions. Representatives from all RCS high school football coaching staffs were in attendance, as was school board member Jeff White.

Former NMTFOA referee and now TSSAA assistant executive director, Richard McWhirter announced and handed out the plaques for the 1A-3A Schools and 4A-6A Schools that NMFTOA covers.  The NMTFOA has been handing out these awards for more than 30 years, and both GHS and SHS have been past recipients of this coveted recognition.

Accepting the 1A-3A plaque for Greenbrier High School, was first year head football coach, John Elmore, and on behalf of Springfield High School, head football coach, Dustin Wilson.
